Where
you are: Searching
in Your Own Backyard FireFox lets you search directly from the "location" field near the top of the browser window. All you need to do is type a question mark followed by a word or words describing what you're trying to find. FireFox then uses the Google search engine or whichever you choose to find pages matching those words. What's more, you can set FireFox to automatically download what's related information whenever you visit a new page. This reduces the time needed to retrieve links to related pages but can slow down the rest of your browsing. To do this, go to "preferences" (under the edit menu), click on the "smart browsing" under the Navigator section and then click the what's related button. Click okay and you're done. It's that simple. Internet Explorer is set up with similar features and
uses Yahoo for its searches. Just type your key words into the location
window and hit return. You'll be given a list of possible matches for
your query. Searching has never been so easy or
more convenient. |
