PDF Files: Useful When You Need Them
T monitor with umbrella picturehough PDF files are not actually graphic image files, many frequently group them together because they are a means of displaying images on the Web or on other computers. PDFs are a pretty unique animal. These files are created by the Acrobat program and come with a world of possibilities.

Acrobat was developed by Adobe, the company behind Photoshop, PageMaker, Illustrator and others. Acrobat comes in two versions, Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Distiller. The reader is a free piece of software that can open, display and print PDF documents. The Distiller software, which can be purchased, can translate PostScript documents into PDF documents. Acrobat documents start out as files created by other programs. Information from those files are converted to PDF files that can be read by any computer with the free reader software.

PDF files, though not actually image files, can be converted into image files by opening them in either a vector-drawing program or an image-editing program. A PDF file can then be saved in a variety of image formats like EPS, TIFF, JPEG or native formats.slug
