Are Duotones, Duographs, Tritones and Quadtones? A duograph, or "fake duotone," is created by printing a one-color halftone over a tint or solid flat color. The effect is not nearly as effective and one looses a lot of the sharpness of a photo. It looks pretty crappy all around. Tritones and a quadtones are halftones made up of three
and four colors respectively. I can't say that i've ever seen one of these
that were all that impressive. If you have four colors, I'd go with CMYK
and have the option of using full color photos!
