with Quotation Marks Popular word-processing software, like Word, will quite often change the inch mark to the appropriate quotation mark automatically. Page-layout programs like QuarkXPress can also be set to do this. But, where do they belong? Here's a few usage rules for using quotation marks:
Web pages have their own quotation mark challenges. Quotation marks need
to be changed manually and are treated as special characters with different
code combinations. The coding for is “ while the
coding for is ” It's unwise to use them
throughout your site as some search-engines and browsers will not read
