Can Page-layout Programs Do? You can either import text from a word-processing program or type the text directly into a page-layout document. From there, you can resize the text and choose the typestyle you wish to use. Along the same lines, you can import images (included in graphic files) into this document and place them wherever you like. When the project is completed, this document is essentially the finished project that will be used to print (either on your local printer or to give to your printing vendor) your project. Though you'll need to include all of the image files and font files associated with this project, it is the page-layout program document that is "drawing on" the resources of all of these pieces to create the finished product. Though these programs offer a wide array of features, keep in mind that
they don't offer the benefit of grammar checkers or some other tools common
to word-processing programs. These kinds of functions are best taken care
